"A walk in nature walks the soul back home" - Mary Davis

Are you seeking adventure, meaningful connection, and time immersed in nature? Join Karen and Reika for Wild Spirit, a 5-day/4-night women’s yoga & hiking retreat set in the breathtaking landscapes of Zion National Park. Together, we’ll explore the four elements-earth, air, fire, and water-as a pathway to awaken our wild spirit. Reflect and share in the nourishing support of sisterhood and recharge your body and mind through daily yoga and scenic hikes. We created this retreat as an invitation to step away from the busyness of life and reconnect with what feels awake and alive within you.

Our retreat center

We will be conveniently located just five minutes from the main entrance to Zion National Park, the stunning backdrop for our 5 day retreat. Within walking distance are local restaurants, gift shops, a grocery store and a free shuttle that takes you directly to the main park entrance. Framed by the majestic Zion landscape, our retreat center is nestled in the quiet beauty of nature. The property is built on two acres of land that were once beneath an ancient ocean before human habitation. Friendly chickens, cats and gentle deer roam the tree-filled grounds.

The retreat center also features it's own stand alone pavilion, which will be our community gathering place for meals and practice. It includes a fully stocked modern kitchen with bench seating, as well as a one of kind yoga space with sliding doors that open to views of towering red rocks, endless natural light, and peaceful energy.

Important retreat and hiking information

All hiking is self guided.

We are not permitted to operate as official tour guides within Zion National Park. National Park regulations require specific permits and certifications to guide hikes, and there are strict limits to group sizes. A free shuttle to the Zion visitors center is located right outside of our retreat center in Springdale (shuttle stop 5). There many beautiful hikes within the park that are suitable for all levels. We will provide detailed information, recommendations, and connect you with other attendees who are interested in the same hikes to help you enjoy the trails confidently and safely. Accessing the hikes within the park also requires using the free shuttle system from the Zion Visitors Center. This helps with traffic and preserving the beauty of the park. For more information and shuttle times, please click here. All hikes can be accessed without a permit except for angels landing.

Angels Landing is one of the most popular (and challenging) hikes in the park. The west rim trail leading up to Angels Landing and to Scouts Lookout is is open to everyone and is fun if you are seeking beautiful views and a fitness challenge as it features many switchbacks going up in elevation. Angels Landing is the last half mile which features extremely steep drop offs and narrow pathways with chained sections and is for experienced hikers only and those who do not have a fear of heights. Because of the popularity of Angle's Landing, there is a lottery system to obtain a permit to hike it. The lottery application is open January 1-20 to hike in May. For more information or to apply, please click here. Karen has hiked Angels Landing alone, feel free to ask her any questions if you're interested and up for the challenge, it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if you can obtain a permit!

The Narrows is Zion National Park's other most popular hike with options for shorter, beginner-friendly routes or longer adventures. Please note: early spring commonly means cold water and high water levels. The Narrows can be closed during the spring when snowmelt raises the river over 150 CFS. Closure is possible in early May, you can find the most up to date information on narrows closures here. Hiking the Narrows involves walking through the Virgin River on wet rocks, and often wading or even swimming in sometimes cold and up to chest deep water amidst picturesque towering canyon walls. If the narrows is open, it is highly recommended that you rent a "dry bib" package from Zion Outfitters which is conveniently located right outside the Park Entrance, the gear rental is an extra fee you are responsible for. For gear rental information, please click here

This is a yoga and hiking retreat of which we suggest some experience in both. Participation in all activities is optional.
